Assistant Environmental (EIA) Consultant - London and South EastAs an Assistant Environmental (EIA) Consultant in the EIA team, you will support the management and delivery of environmental consultancy services to a range of clients. You will assist in coordinating and providing technical input into EIAs and undertake broader environmental management tasks for various projects.

Responsibilities

Assist project managers in coordinating site selection for offshore wind farm projects, liaising with our team of technical specialists to understand and contribute to the development of mitigation measures.

Assist in implementing the latest approaches to digital EIA.

Coordinate land access required to undertake EIA surveys, including archaeological investigations.

Contribute to a stakeholder engagement strategy.

Assist with finalising an Environmental Statement ready for submission.

Qualifications

A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant environmental discipline with a strong emphasis on EIA and/or SEA.

Relevant postgraduate experience in a similar role within the UK or a jurisdiction with a comparable environmental planning system.

Clear verbal and written communication skills and a high level of computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.

An understanding of health and safety excellence.

Experience (or interest) in assisting with specialist environmental surveys (e.g., ecology surveys, noise surveys or air quality monitoring) on an ad hoc basis.

Willingness to travel to client locations across the UK and, if necessary, internationally.

A sound understanding of relevant UK environmental and planning legislation, particularly in the field of EIA.

Postgraduate qualification in environmental science/planning or a related field.

Practical knowledge of some (or all) of the technical disciplines required for an EIA.

Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or another professional association.
