A vacancy has arisen for a full-time Medical Secretary within the Clinical Genetics Department based at the Western General Hospital. The SE Scotland Genetics Service provides a clinical genetic service, genetic counselling and laboratory services to Lothian and the South East of Scotland.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive medical secretarial and administrative support to clinicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the efficient day-to-day running of the service. The post is varied and includes considerable audio typing and undertaking a wide range of administrative duties, using different IT systems, attendance at committee meetings and taking formal minutes, and requires excellent IT skills.
Deal with a wide range of people in a polite and courteous manner, with a methodical, organised approach to work.
The post also involves some patient contact and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications / Requirements
Considerable audio typing is involved and the post includes attendance at committee meetings and taking formal minutes; requires excellent IT skills.
