We are looking for a Flooring Installer to join our Housing Repairs and Maintenance Team. The successful person will share our values , commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.
About the role
Based from our Depot at Great Wenham, you will work in the Babergh and Mid Suffolk Districts on a wide range of flooring works associated with the maintenance of council homes.
This is an opportunity to join the councils dynamic housing repairs and maintenance team. You will be responsible for undertaking high-quality reactive flooring works across our 7000 occupied properties and will carry out to the highest standard all aspects of flooring repairs and installations
Key duties will include:- measuring, calculating and cutting flooring materials to fit specific spaces- installing vinyl sheet, domestic and commercial (cap/cove/heated weld) safety flooring , carpet, tiles and timber flooring etc- removing old flooring and preparing surfaces for new flooring- keeping the work area clean and safe, adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.
A van (for work use only) is provided equipped with a range of tools, and in addition, a tool allowance is paid.You will provide outstanding customer service and excellent standards of performance to the public and tenants of Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils.In addition to having great technical plastering, tiling / wet trade skills you will need to have a focused customer service approach and be adaptable and resourceful when working in the team or independently across the districts.NVQ Level 2 in Floor Laying or Similar Skilled TradeA full valid driving licence is essential for this role.A DBS check will also be required.Working together across our councils and with our partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors, we provide excellent services to our 190,000 residents across Babergh and Mid Suffolk.
