Oil and Gas and Downhole ToolsResponsible for:Adding value to engineering team via direct or indirect involvement in; The management of design projectsOversight and engineering support for company Sales OrdersPreparation of clear, complete and accurate detail drawings in alignment with department standardsA high productivity of output to ensure project deliverables are metSupport in the design and review of new productsPerform mathematical analysis at component and assembly levelPerform tolerance studies at assembly levelDesign and support test activities to verify designs including hands-on testing participationSupporting the Engineering team in meeting the ongoing requirements of the businessPrincipal Accountabilities

Develop product line designs from concept through to finished products in alignment with company and industry standardsDevelop test equipment for product validation in accordance with the relevant industry standardsMake engineering cost estimates for development of existing products to create realistic project cost targetsThe preparation and presentation of engineering design and reviews both internally and externallySuccessfully manage projects within projected budgetary and delivery targets to maximise profitability from the company''s productsAssist in the evaluation of product viabilityProvide technical support to the organisation to maximise the level of service the organisation can supply to the customerProvide manual assistance in the process of assembly and testing of new productsLiaise with clients and vendors locally and internationally in the specification of product developments to maximise business opportunitiesActively promote a positive team working environment within the engineering department and with all interfacing departments to nurture enthusiasm and support for ongoing projects to ensure they are brought to a successful conclusionTo carry out other duties as requiredJob Knowledge and Experience

HNC or Degree qualified in relevant field (mechanical, product, electro-mechanical engineering/design)Minimum 10 years relevant engineering experience, with oilfield downhole toolsSelf-motivated and able to work under pressureGood team player with sound interpersonal skillsMust be able to clearly articulate technical principles and tool functionality and applicationGood working knowledge of CAD system Solid works or InventorHigh level of mathematical capability to perform stress and load calculationsAbility to provide engineering solutions to client problemsGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritise conflicting workloads and work to deadlines
