Principal Electrical Engineer

Location: Manchester / Warrington (Hybrid - 2 days office / 3 days home, flexibility where needed)

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical design across HV transmission and distribution projects (132kV-275kV+)
- Produce and review design deliverables, specifications, and Bills of Quantity (BoQs)
- Work on substation, cable, and network infrastructure projects
- Support technical reviews, design assurance, and risk assessments
- Engage with Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), and network stakeholders
- Support construction, commissioning, and project delivery teams
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects
- Mentor engineers and support team capability

Requirements
- Experience working on UK transmission or distribution networks
- Strong knowledge of HV systems (132kV / 275kV / grid or DNO environments)
- Experience with substations, cables, or network infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with UK standards, specifications, and design assurance processes
- Experience working with contractors, ICPs, or client-side delivery teams
- Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and regulated environments
- Practical, delivery-focused mindset with strong stakeholder engagement
