PwC UK .About The Role: We are looking for a Manager to join our Tax Innovation and Capital Incentives (ICI) team in one of our National offices. The ICI team has a wide range of clients across industries including engineering, food and drink, manufacturing, financial services and software development. We advise businesses on HMRC incentives including Research and Development reliefs, Patent Box claims and Capital Allowances claims to reward innovation and technological development. Our aim is top quality client experience delivering in a way that differentiates us from competitors. Our team includes individuals with general tax, audit and industry backgrounds, all bringing different skills and perspectives to ensure we deliver exceptional service to our clients.
What Your Days Will Look Like
As a Manager in our team, you will be involved in a wide variety of projects covering all incentives we advise on. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your own development, actively seek new projects and stay familiar with the latest HMRC guidance and legislation. You will progress through practical application beyond the guidance itself.
Responsibilities
Taking a lead role in managing the client relationship, including deadlines, running parts of meetings, handling day-to-day queries, and acting as a trusted contact while identifying value-added opportunities within the wider tax team and the Firm.
Preparation of formal reports to support numerical claims for filing with HMRC and project technical summaries illustrating client innovation.
Assisting with the review of numerical aspects of claims and applying the rules to claims.
Proactively engaging in business development and seeking opportunities to win work for existing clients and new targets.
Qualifications and Skills
A sound understanding of the RandD regimes and experience in the preparation of SME and RDEC claims (including reviewing claim workings, contributing to client technical calls, and preparing supporting documentation).
Passion for client service and stakeholder engagement at all levels of seniority.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple clients across the portfolio.
Excel/analytical skills to understand numerical aspects of claims and compile them.
