What the job involves

Assist the Peer Support Manager with the development and integration of the

Online Community

into wider support services.

Take the lead on the day-to-day management and moderation of the Online Community, ensuring a safe, welcoming and supportive space for people affected by prostate cancer.

Engage with users to understand their needs and shape the platform accordingly.

Develop policies and guidelines to ensure safe and respectful interactions.

Recruit and support volunteer moderators; work with other teams to share news, resources and health information on the forum.

Use analytics and user feedback to improve the platform and support its growth; stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in online communities.

Support the delivery of the One-to-One Peer Support service: triage enquiries, match service users with trained peer volunteers, and assist with volunteer onboarding and coordination.

What we want from you

Experience managing an online community or similar digital support service.

Able to provide information and support to people facing difficult or emotional circumstances; create a safe and inclusive space for users to connect and share.

Strong digital engagement know-how with a track record of encouraging growth and participation; able to use data and insights to guide improvements.

Experience collecting and monitoring service data to help shape decisions and measure impact.

Excellent written and spoken communication, with the ability to engage sensitively with people with lived experience and reflect their voices in service development.

Ability to work collaboratively across teams, building relationships with internal colleagues and external partners, and supporting cross-functional projects.

Organised with the ability to manage a varied workload; a flexible, responsive approach; experience supervising volunteers is a plus.

Basic understanding of cancer care in the UK and awareness of how inequalities affect access to health and support services.

The successful candidate will be expected to be in London at least one day per month; additional attendance may be required for team meetings, training or events. Office travel costs are not reimbursed.
