About the role

This is a key position within the finance team, focused on managing client accounts and ensuring the smooth recovery of fees. The successful candidate will:Take responsibility for contacting clients to secure payment of outstanding invoicesWork closely with partners in monthly review meetings to agree next steps on aged debtMaintain clear, accurate records of all collection activityResolve client billing queries quickly and professionallyOversee the shared credit control inbox and prepare regular updates for the teamSupport quarterly debt provisioning and highlight issues where neededBuild strong working relationships with clients and colleagues across the firmTotum is partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a Credit Controller on a 14-month fixed-term contract based in Manchester.About you

We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller who can bring expertise and confidence to a busy professional services environment. You will have:A solid credit control experiencePrevious exposure to working in a law firm or other partnership/professional services setting – essentialStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines independentlyExcellent communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with partners and clientsGood knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and WordExperience with Elite 3E would be an advantageAs a responsible business, it is important that we represent the diversity of our people, our clients and our communities.
