Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Assistant:
- Supporting a pupil with Autism in navigating daily school life, using personalised behaviour strategies
- Building a trusting, consistent relationship that encourages confidence, independence, and emotional security
- Collaborating closely with class teachers, the SEN team, and the pupil’s family to implement effective support plans
- Helping develop social skills and positive coping mechanisms to aid in long-term progress and well-being
- Tracking progress, adapting support, and celebrating every step forward
Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant role:
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism or behavioural challenges( desirable)
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach with a genuine commitment to inclusive education
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work in partnership with school staff and families
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset and the ability to remain positive in challenging situations

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
