English Heritage is seeking a National Events and Venue Hire Programme Lead to join our team in a full-time, permanent role. The position is based at a regional office, with flexible working options (office-based, hybrid, or homeworker).Location:

16171Role overview: You will lead a dynamic and flexible team, overseeing the design, planning and delivery of a national programme of events, activities and venue hires across English Heritage''s sites, including Stonehenge, Dover Castle, Whitby Abbey, Osborne and more. The programme drives visitor engagement and contributes to income.Responsibilities:Provide creative visioning, planning and delivery of the annual event programme aligned with English Heritage strategy and values.Collaborate with the Venue Hire Sales Team to plan and implement venue hire operations, optimise income and workflows.Lead and develop a high-performing, flexible team; oversee procurement of event-related goods and services; manage third-party relationships; negotiate contracts; ensure high standards of delivery.Liaise with central and regional stakeholder teams to deliver engaging and commercially viable experiences while upholding inclusion, safety, quality, and heritage setting considerations.Qualifications and experience:Proven track record in developing and delivering large-scale, multi-site event programmes for heritage or cultural settings, driving visitor volume and engagement.Experience managing varied venue hire operations (e.g., filming, events and celebrations) with client liaison and contract execution.Leadership and team management skills for coordinating a flexible workforce.Significant budget management experience and commercial acumen.Experience managing multiple stakeholders and building relationships with internal and external teams.In-depth knowledge of event management practice, including health and safety regulations, licensing laws, and risk management.Interview process: First round interviews in the week of 22 September (MS Teams); second round in person at the London Office on Wood St.Inclusion and wellbeing: We are committed to an inclusive, diverse and supportive workplace.
