Special Needs Teaching Assistant
About the Role You will be working closely with pupils who have complex needs, which may include: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)Severe or profound learning difficultiesCommunication and language needsSocial, emotional and behavioural needsPhysical or medical needs The role involves providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning, develop independence and achieve their individual targets. There may be occasions where personal care is required, including supporting pupils with toileting, hygiene, feeding or mobility. Full training and guidance will be provided. Key Responsibilities Support pupils with complex SEN throughout the school dayWork collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionalsAssist with the implementation of EHCP targetsAdapt learning activities to meet individual needsSupport emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategiesPromote inclusion, independence and wellbeing The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience working with children with complex SEN (in a school or similar setting)Be patient, nurturing and emotionally resilientBe comfortable supporting personal care needsDemonstrate strong communication and teamwork skillsShow a genuine passion for inclusive educationBe committed to safeguarding and child protection Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Health and Social Care, or similar) are desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
