Handle a large caseload of complex matters and draft necessary legal documents. Offer creative legal solutions to support service changes and client needs. Represent the service''s interests within the council and with external clients. Support and supervise junior staff, and deputize for senior legal roles when needed. Advise elected members and senior managers on legal issues. Prepare for and attend court, arbitration, or mediation as needed. Maintain and improve client relationships. Keep clients informed of new legislation and provide training if necessary. Negotiate with solicitors and other professionals on behalf of the authorities. Person Specifications Must Have: Qualified solicitor, barrister, or chartered legal executive with local government experience. Good knowledge of relevant legislation and decision-making processes.
