This is a 15-hour-per-week role with flexible scheduling to accommodate the needs of the young person and the tutor.About the RoleYou will provide 1:1 mentoring and tuition sessions to support a young child who currently struggles to access a full classroom environment. Sessions will take place within a school setting in a safe, low-stimulus space designated for individual work and regulation.Your role will include:Supporting the child to rebuild confidence and engagement with learningHelping them tolerate short, structured activities appropriate to their developmental stageEncouraging early communication, play and social-interaction skillsGradually preparing them for reintegration into the classroom at a pace that supports emotional regulationBuilding a trusting, secure and consistent relationshipAbout the Young PersonThe child is 4 years old and has:Global Developmental DelayDelayed speech, language and communication skillsDifficulties with social interaction, attention, and sensory regulationA preference for calm, predictable environmentsStrong interests such as numbers, rhymes, mirrors, water play, and cause-and-effect toysThey respond best to:Gentle, consistent adult supportMakaton, gestures and simple visual cuesShort, motivating activities and sensory-based approachesYour role will be to help them feel safe, regulated and successful, so they can begin accessing more of their education.What We''re Looking ForWe welcome applicants with experience in:SEND (especially ..... full job details .....
