About The Role

We – the Energy Unit, specifically the Nuclear; Defence and Civil division are looking to recruit a Senior Safety Case Engineer to join our team. The role will cover a number of areas including nuclear power generation, the naval nuclear programme and decommissioning. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team with plenty of opportunities for career progression and the chance to make an impact on the development of the Energy unit.

For this role you will be expected to demonstrate knowledge/experience within one or more of the following areas:

Safety Case Production (e.g. SJP, PCSR, PCmSR, PRS)Modification/ Design Change Submissions (LC/AC 22)DecommissioningFunctional Safety AssessmentRegulatory InterfaceALARP AssessmentSafety and Risk AssessmentDeterministic Safety AssessmentProbabilistic Safety AssessmentNuclear Safety Legislation, Regulation and PolicyEngineering SubstantiationHAZOP and other identification studiesHAZANCriticalityNuclear Fire

Candidate Specification

Degree qualified in a Science, Technology or Engineering disciplineExperience in the nuclear or defence industries (although applicants from other high-hazard / regulated industries will be considered)Chartered Engineer or working towardsAbility to demonstrate successful delivery of nuclear safety deliverables and strategy on complex projectsWilling to develop and mentor more junior members of staffCandidates must be eligible to apply for and obtain Security Clearance
