• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic and personal growth.

• Prepare pupils for end-of-Year 2 assessments, using data to track progress and inform planning.

• Implement a range of teaching strategies that cater to varying abilities, learning styles, and individual needs.

• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement, promoting positive behaviour through consistent classroom management strategies.

• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families to support children''s learning and wellbeing.

• Collaborate with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and subject coordinators to enhance learning opportunities.

• Maintain accurate records of pupil attainment and progress, and contribute to written reports and parent consultations.

• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events, and contribute to the wider school community.

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent).

• Recent or relevant experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2.

• Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum, including phonics, early maths mastery, and the KS1 assessment framework.

• A creative, reflective, and adaptive approach to teaching and learning.

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

• Strong organisational and communication skills.

• A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and the promotion of equal opportunities for all pupils.
