Consortium Professional Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with our client to recruit a new Category Buyer to join their established procurement team. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in a business committed to innovation, operational excellence and continuous improvement. As Category Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting procurement strategy and execution. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders and suppliers to deliver high-impact cost-saving projects and support the development of new products. The Opportunity: As a Category Buyer you ll play a key role in: Driving year-on-year cost reductions aligned with strategic KPIs Delivering best-in-class Total Cost of Acquisition across categories Developing and implementing commodity strategies to strengthen supply chain performance Supporting the introduction of new products in collaboration with Quality and Supply Chain teams Conducting risk assessments and shaping robust supplier contingency plans Your work will directly contribute to supplier innovation, enhanced operational efficiency and long-term commercial sustainability. About You: We re looking for someone who can bring: A minimum of 3 years procurement experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment Proven track record of achieving cost savings and supplier performance improvements Strong commercial acumen with experience managing supplier portfolios over £2 million Excellent communication ..... full job details .....
