Manager - Corporate Tax

It is described as one of the UK’s top 10 fastest-growing accountancy firms with a long-standing partner history since 1881.Job DescriptionThis role provides tax compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients. The primary responsibility is to manage a portfolio of clients and supervise more junior staff as necessary. You will assist Directors/Partners in client work and group management, and you will actively participate in special assignments and advisory projects where appropriate.Key Responsibilities
Manage portfolio of businesses including OMBs, SMEs and larger corporatesUndertake corporate tax provisioning, compliance, and advisory work for your portfolioEngage in a variety of business tax work (e.g. ad-hoc advisory, international tax matters, RandD tax credits, VAT and employment tax awareness)Assist with transactional and due diligence workProvide exceptional client service and maintain regular contact with client teamsDemonstrate technical strengthStaff Management and Development
Liaise with Partners and demonstrate strong management skillsConduct appraisals and monitor staff performanceProvide on-the-job training for junior staff (one-to-one)Address staff questionsCompliance
Ensure Evelyn Partners procedures are followed in line with relevant institute and HMRC guidanceMeet department KPIs around billing and recovery targetsPersonal Development (Technical and Other)
Engage in reading, internal meetings, seminars and coursesMaintain acute awareness of other parts of the firm to encourage cross-referralsKey Skills and Experience
Significant corporate tax experience within the profession or industryTechnically capable tax adviser able to handle complex client workExperience in managing people and clientsWillingness to develop business development skills to support growthQualifications
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) and/or tax adviser (CTA)Key Competencies
