Senior Risk Manager - Nuclear New Build

This role will require working from our London office 3 days per week and requires BPSS security clearance. We are seeking risk managers who have worked on large scale/complex construction/infrastructure projects in a risk role.
You’ll Be Responsible For
Accountable for the risk management performance of assigned commission(s).
Creating/designing effective risk management framework(s)/strategy(s) on assigned commission(s).
Managing and directing clients, consultants, contractors, project team on all risk management matters for the assigned commission(s).
Partnering with clients to meet their expectations and build strong professional relationships.
Providing expert advice and support to project/programme teams in the administration of the risk process, particularly regarding risks to key project objectives and escalation of risks.
Facilitating and driving the delivery of risk workshops.
Working with project managers to recognise opportunities and mitigations to minimise risk exposure.
Ensuring risk mitigation action plans are developed with owners appointed and project plans updated and monitored.
Leading the delivery of project/programme quantitative risk analysis (cost and time).
Commenting on the adequacy of contingency as part of the regular reporting cycle as required.
Developing and delivering monthly risk reports, externally to the client and internally to the project team.
Ensuring activities are carried out in line with Mace control centre, client requirements and prevailing legislation.
Providing line management to the risk team and other project/programme members.
Mentoring junior risk team members and supporting career development.
Directing the integration of risk with PMO and planning disciplines.
Supporting the HUB risk lead with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission.
Collaborating towards net zero carbon transition and proactively identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during delivery.
You’ll Need To Have
Relevant university degree (e.g., risk management, engineering) or equivalent.
Chartered (or equivalent) membership of a relevant professional institution, e.g. Association of Project Managers/Institute of Risk Management.
Experience of effective risk leadership on complex construction projects.
Experience of setting up effective risk management/assurance frameworks/strategies.
Comprehensive knowledge of risk tools, techniques and software (e.g., Active Risk Manager, RiskHive, @risk, Primavera Risk Analyser).
Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering a range of project risk management services on major construction projects.
Good understanding of construction projects, interfaces and lifecycle.
Deep domain knowledge of providing risk leadership in sectors such as rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals.
