About the RoleAs a strategic leader within our Governance and Compliance (1LOD) organisation, you will support our business globally as we navigate a rapidly evolving regulatory environment and ensure that with the broader Governance and Compliance Team, we are driving the compliance agenda and delivering expertise to our Business Units and Legal Entities.
As the Head of our Enterprise-wide Global Regulatory Change Team (GRCT), you will be responsible for the following:
Lead and cultivate a team of senior experts who manage global regulatory change across the enterprise, ensuring they are supported with meaningful development opportunities
Develop and oversee our global regulatory change strategy, ensuring it aligns with the organisation''s objectives
Design, implement, and continuously enhance the Global Regulatory Change Framework (GRCF), ensuring it remains aligned with stakeholder feedback and evolves in response to the organisation’s changing regulatory and business landscape
Develops a sustainable operating model using strategic tools including governance, workflow, data tagging, repository, reporting, security and access
Partners with 2nd line defence and other executive stakeholders to establish a good Horizon Scanning Model to monitor and identify upcoming regulatory changes and trends that could impact the organisation on a global or local scale
Works with stakeholders to analyse the potential effects of new regulations on the business, its products, services, and operations in the various jurisdictions in which we operate
Ensures that we implement regulatory changes as they arise in the jurisdictions in which we do business, explaining the implications of such regulatory changes and the changes that need to be made to our business models to implement effective ways of addressing the relevant requirements. This will involve leading and supporting cross-functional initiatives to design, develop, and implement the programs and changes needed for compliance
Interprets complex regulatory change initiatives and being able to present their implications to stakeholders at various levels within the organisation
Provides expert advice to business areas and key stakeholders on complex regulatory matters
Engage with stakeholders at various levels to ensure that they are mobilised to deal with regulatory change initiatives, some of which will be managed by our Enterprise Change Management Team, some of which will be managed within the GRCT and some of which will be managed directly within business units ensuring the right levels of influence and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels to promote the regulatory compliance agenda and ensure buy-in for change initiatives
Ensures that regulatory practices and internal policies are updated to meet global standards and maintain compliance with requirements
Track, maintain and ensure traceability for the program of work undergone by the department and related programs
Establishes effective governance and able to produce MIS around regulatory change initiatives
Carry out assurance on our overall compliance with regulatory requirements and report on assurance to senior stakeholders
Drive the technology agenda in the regulatory compliance space
Skills / Experience
Experience of managing the regulatory change agenda including implementation of large-scale complex change
Strong knowledge and expertise of risk infrastructure across 1st, 2nd and 3rd line of Defence
In depth understanding of risk management and regulatory change and how they apply in Financial Services organizations including the impact of regulation on the business
Good understanding of products, recognizing the current demands of the market and the need to ensure delivery of regulatory requirements in an evolving and complex environment
Complex stakeholder management including C-suite and market associations
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders up to executive level and being able to influence and constructively challenge
Ability to adapt to and contribute to change in a positive and constructive manner
Knowledge of corporate risk policies and standards and compliance related requirements
Experience in rolling out complex programs and improving processes across multiple stakeholders
The ability to translate vision into tangible deliverables and results
Highly flexible and adaptable to change
Technologically savvy with the ability to mine and interpret data
Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and has a strong record of effective people management skills
