We are seeking a
Field Service Engineer
to join our technical service team. This role involves the
installation, maintenance, and repair of dental milling machines, 3D printers, sintering furnaces, and associated dental laboratory equipment
under warranty and service contracts. You will be key in ensuring our customers experience minimal downtime and receive professional, reliable support for their digital dental workflows.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, calibrate, and test new dental milling machines, 3D printers, sintering furnaces and similar associated dental equipment.
Train customers on safe operation, routine care, and troubleshooting.
Carry out warranty repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, thermal, and software-related issues.
Replace and configure motors, heaters, sensors, control boards, and other components.
Deliver excellent on-site support, keeping customers informed throughout the service visit.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to help customers maximise equipment performance.
Escalate complex cases when required and liaise with manufacturers for technical assistance.
Complete service documentation, warranty reports, and installation forms promptly.
Track spare parts usage and maintain accurate stock reporting.
Provide feedback to the service team on recurring technical issues for product improvement.
Comply with company, manufacturer, and customer safety standards.
Apply safe working practices when dealing with high-temperature sintering furnaces, laser systems, and compressed air equipment.
Skills and Experience
Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
Experience servicing CNC machines, 3D printers, thermal equipment, or similar complex systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanics, electrics, and control systems.
Ability to interpret technical diagrams and service manuals.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Full UK driving licence, own vehicle, and willingness to travel extensively.
Knowledge of dental CAD/CAM workflows and dental laboratory processes.
Experience with additive manufacturing systems and furnace technologies.
Familiarity with warranty service procedures and spare parts logistics.
