SOLDER – PCB Assembler

The successful candidate will be welcomed on board a small electronic engineering, assembly and test lab team, to assemble bespoke products in a project-based environment. Staff are employed in the processes of semiconductor device testing and qualification work.

We are looking for a reliable, flexible and well organised person with some competency/skills in through hole soldering and an interest in Electronic Engineering. Knowledge of PCB layout would be useful.

Applicants to successfully reach the interview stage can expect a trade test in through hole soldering.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Through hole & SMT component soldering to IPC610 class 3 standards

OTHER DUTIES

• Basic wiring & crimping skills
• Wiring to IPC620 class 3 standard.
• SMT rework to include track cutting & component removal
• To carry out basic mechanical assembly

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required to be a good all-round individual with an interest in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. The required key skills of this position are:

• An understanding of PCB Layout.
• Any experience in systems manufacturing is beneficial but not necessary.
• Working closely with other departments within the company and supporting them in a multitude of disciplines.
• An organised mind in terms of work processes and time management.
• A practical aptitude and conscientious approach to problem solving and work scheduling.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and achieve objectives.

This role is based in rural Gloucestershire, so your own transport will be required if you are not within a short commutable distance.

RENUMERATION

Salary £28,000 pa

Immediate start available if required.

37½ hour week, 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, AXA health care scheme, 9% auto enrolment pension scheme.

Working hours will be Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm, with 45-minute lunch break and Friday 8:00am to 12:30pm.
