OverviewThe Medical Device Service supports users of medical equipment across all hospital sites within the Northern Care Alliance. You will play a key role in supporting the department''s responsibility for the maintenance, repair and sub-contractor management of medical equipment. This will include first-line support to users to optimise system uptime and maximise use of medical equipment.

Responsibilities

Provide specialist technical knowledge for the implementation and delivery of a long-term operational plan for cost-effective and efficient management and deployment of safe medical devices across the Care organisations.

Work towards achieving compliance levels for medical device repair and maintenance, including downtime, and ensure systems enable clinical teams to have insight into progress with maintenance and repair of their devices.

Support the departments responsibility for maintenance, repair and sub-contractor management of medical equipment.

Provide first-line user support for medical equipment to optimise uptime and usage.

Assist with ensuring availability of equipment and visibility of maintenance progress to clinical teams.

Qualifications

Minimum of HNC in Mechanical or Operations, or Mechatronics engineering, or equivalent relevant experience in medical equipment.

Knowledge and experience in the application and repair of a wide range of medical equipment used in hospital and community settings; some specific training will be provided.

Full UK Driving License.

Consideration may be given to applicants with reduced knowledge and skills who participate in a development program at a reduced grade.
