Long Term Futures is seeking a proactive and skilled Interventions Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive primary school in Camden. This unique role combines specialist SEN support with the opportunity to deliver targeted interventions across EYFS and KS1, making it ideal for candidates looking to broaden their experience beyond a traditional 1:1 position.
You will begin each day supporting a Reception pupil with non-verbal ASD through a structured 90-minute personalised timetable, before spending the remainder of the day delivering interventions to small groups of pupils across the lower school.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Autism, Speech & Language support, EYFS or KS1 interventions who is looking for a varied and rewarding role where they can make a measurable impact on pupil progress.
About the Role
Working closely with the SENCo, class teachers and wider support team, you will:
* Support a Reception pupil with non-verbal ASD during a structured morning programme
* Use visual supports, communication strategies and sensory approaches to promote engagement
* Deliver targeted interventions across EYFS and KS1 in phonics, communication and early numeracy
* Support pupils with additional learning and communication needs in small-group settings
* Encourage independence, confidence and participation in learning
* Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
* Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment across the school
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience supporting pupils with ASD or communication needs
* Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, Speech & Language strategies or similar approaches is highly desirable
* Experience delivering interventions in EYFS or KS1
* Confident leading small-group activities independently
* Patient, proactive and able to build strong relationships with pupils
