Food Safety Officer

Location: 9 Holbeach Road, Catford, London, SE6 4TW
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 30.88 per hour

Responsibilities

• Conduct food hygiene inspections, food standards inspections, and re-visits in line with the Food Law Code of Practice.
• Provide expert advice to businesses and residents.
• Carry out enforcement action including notices, prosecutions, and legal proceedings.

Person Specification

• At least 2 years of recent experience as a fully authorised officer in a UK local authority conducting food hygiene and food standards inspections.
• EHRB registration (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated competency under the Food Law Code of Practice.
• A minimum of 20 hours food safety CPD over the past 2 years.
• Confidence in working independently, making critical decisions, and managing a varied caseload.
• Strong communication and enforcement skills.
