IT Infrastructure Manager

OverviewSouth London (with travel across Trust sites) • Full time
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on IT Infrastructure Manager to lead the development and delivery of robust, secure, and scalable IT systems across the Wandle Learning Trust. This is a pivotal role supporting ten schools initially, with scope to expand to up to 20 schools as the Trust grows. You’ll unify infrastructure across sites, drive innovation, and ensure operational excellence in line with audit and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Leading infrastructure centralisation and integration across Trust sites
Managing servers, storage, networks, and virtual environments
Overseeing cybersecurity, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
Administering user accounts, permissions, and access control
Providing technical support and training to staff
Managing vendor relationships and procurement
Ensuring compliance with GDPR and safeguarding standards
Requirements / Qualifications
At least 5 years’ advanced experience in IT architecture and security
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and MIS platforms
Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V), networking (VLANs, WAN), and endpoint protection
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
A proactive, service-focused mindset with the ability to lead and innovate
