My client, a leading Main Contractor, is seeking an experienced Design Manager on a freelance basis to support a major new build prison complex. The role will be based out of their Manchester office and will play a critical part in managing the design process from concept through to handover.The successful Design Manager will be responsible for:Lead and manage the design process across all project stages, from pre-construction through to completionAct as the key liaison between the contractor, consultants, subcontractors, and client teamsEnsure that design outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all compliance and quality standardsReview and manage design documentation to ensure buildability and alignment with the project programmeSupport planning and design strategy meetings, identifying and resolving design-related risksWork collaboratively with construction and commercial teams to deliver a coordinated and practical design solutionRequirements:Proven experience as a Design Manager within a Main Contracting environmentTrack record of delivering complex new build projects from inception to handoverStrong understanding of construction methodologies, building regulations, and design complianceExperience working on secure or government-related infrastructure projects is advantageousExcellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple design packages and work in a fast-paced environmentThis Design Manager role is ..... full job details .....
