This is a field-based position with UK-wide travel, so candidates based in the Midlands or South East England will be well suited due to project locations and travel requirements.This opportunity would suit a committed engineer who thrives on varied site work, problem-solving, and ensuring safe and efficient network operations. With plenty of scope for overtime and excellent development opportunities, this is an ideal role for an experienced engineer ready to take the next step.Key Responsibilities:Carry out inspection and planned maintenance of HV/LV equipment on wind and IandC sitesUndertake HV/LV cable jointing and terminations when requiredPerform protection testing and fault-findingInstall and test switchgear, transformers, and earthing systemsPlan and execute safe isolations, HV switching, and earthing up to 33kVPrepare and issue work packs, RAMS, and safety documentation in line with regulationsSupervise site teams, sub-contractors, and technicians as neededLiaise confidently with clients and stakeholders to deliver projects to high standardsCompile reports and maintain accurate site recordsHNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (Power Distribution preferred)Proven experience in HV OandM, ideally on private networks or renewable energy sitesGood understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practicesValid first aid and manual handling certificatesFull UK driving licenceComfortable with regular travel and overnight staysIT literate and able to produce clear documentationAuthorised up to 33kV for switching and permit issuingGWO certificates for onshore wind (advantageous but not essential)£40,000-£50,000 per annum (depending on experience)Overtime paid at x1.5 and x2Annual bonus (10%)Company vehicle and fuel cardIT equipment provided25 days holidayPension matched at 5%What We''re Looking For:A proactive, safety-focused engineer who takes pride in high-quality workmanshipAble to coordinate others on site and communicate clearly with all parties involvedStrong organisational skills and the flexibility to adapt to changing site conditionsA collaborative approach, with the ability to work well within a wider teamSharemanages this roleMatchtech is a STEM Recruitment Specialist, with over 40 years’ experience
