A Mechanical Design Engineer is needed for a small, dynamic engineering consultancy where your ideas matter and your input makes a real impact. From industrial plant layouts to structural steelwork and one-off product designs, you''ll work across varied sectors for clients ranging from global companies to local fabricators.

As Mechanical Design Engineer you''ll be involved in all aspects of the design and detailing process-from concept through to commissioning. This includes elements of project management and occasional travel for site surveys or team collaboration.

Core responsibilities needed for the Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Develop design documentation: 3D models, 2D drawings, schematics, calculations
• Produce supporting materials: certification dossiers, quality plans, manuals
• Design with precision to meet technical, safety, and client expectations
• Collaborate across disciplines and with suppliers
• Maintain high standards in quality, delivery, and budget control

Key Skills:

Seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in:

• Plant layouts and materials handling systems (silos, conveyors, dryers, etc.)
• Structural and steelwork design (portal frames, access platforms, etc.)
• Pipework design and detailing
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Tekla, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and creative thinking
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
