Job Title: Fire Systems Small Works Installation EngineerLocation: Field-Based – LondonJob Type: Full-TimeSalary: Competitive + Van + BenefitsCBW Staffing Solutions are currently working with a leading fire systems contractor to recruit a Fire Systems Small Works Installation Engineer to cover sites across London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a forward-thinking business with ongoing projects across both commercial and residential sectors.The Role: As a Fire Systems Small Works Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and handover of small-scale fire alarm and detection system projects. This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer who is comfortable working independently on a range of systems and can deliver high-quality work in line with industry standards. You’ll be expected to liaise with clients on-site, maintain documentation, and ensure all works are delivered to specification and in line with current regulations.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, and test fire alarm systems to BS 5839-1 standardsCarry out modifications and upgrades on existing systemsComplete all documentation, including job sheets, commissioning certificates, and handover formsCommunicate effectively with clients, project managers, and internal teamsEnsure all work is completed within budget, on time, and to a high standardAdhere to all company policies and health and safety proceduresSupport junior engineers or apprentices where applicableAttend training to stay up to date with latest standards and technology

Essential Requirements

Proven experience installing and commissioning fire detection and alarm systemsStrong working knowledge of BS 5839-1Experience with a range of fire systems such as Gent, Kentec, Advanced, Apollo, Hochiki, etc.Full UK Driving LicenceECS or CSCS CardExcellent communication and customer-facing skillsAbility to work independently and manage your workload effectively

Desirable Qualifications

FIA Units (e.g., Units 1 and 4) or equivalent certificationExperience with emergency lighting or other life safety systemsIPAF / PASMA / Asbestos Awareness certificationElectrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation)
